Biography:

Jason Laine is an Associate Teaching Professor at Penn State where he directs the Italian Language Program. He teaches across the language curriculum including beginning and intermediate levels and culture courses focused on preparing students for experiences abroad. He has directed Penn State study abroad programs in Todi and Reggio Calabria and recently started a collaboration with the Eberly College of Science to take students in the medical sciences abroad to study the history of human anatomy. Laine is also the author of the Penn State World Campus elementary Italian course and regularly teaches beginning and intermediate level language online. His areas of interest include Italian across the curriculum, pedagogical innovations, Italian cinema, contemporary Italian poetry and translation. In 2016 his translation of Ernesto Livorni’s L’America Dei Padri: The Fathers’ America was published by Bordighera Press (VIA – Folios series).
